In-game spending draws IRS attention

I was perusing the technology world and related articles and came across something that got the gears in my head turning and whirring. Someone was confused as to why people would spend real cold hard cash on electronic items for games. The person just couldn’t comprehend exchanging paper money for digital bits and bytes.
